Who we are

Marcio’s Italian Restaurant, 101 Castle Road, Bedford MK40 3QP, is run by MARCIOSDELICACIES LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13894608). Registered office: The Pagoda, 30 Avenue Road, Bournemouth BH2 5SL. We decide how your personal information is used, so under UK data protection law we are its “controller”. What we collect, and why

  • Table bookings. When you book online, by phone, by WhatsApp or through Google, we keep your name, phone number, email address, the date and time, the number of guests and any notes you give us. We use them to hold your table and to contact you about your booking. We do this to provide the booking you asked for.
  • Allergies and dietary needs. If you tell us about an allergy or another health need, we use it only to prepare your food safely. This is health information, so we only use it because you chose to give it to us, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.
  • Event tickets and gift cards. When you buy a ticket or a gift card in our online shop, we keep your name, email address, what you bought and when. Card payments are handled by our payment providers; we never see your full card number. If you buy a gift card in the restaurant, we also write your name and phone number in our gift card book, only so we can find a lost card. We do this to provide what you bought and to keep the financial records the law requires.
  • Messages. If you message, email or call us, we keep what you send so we can reply.
  • Our website. This website doesn’t use cookies or advertising trackers. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies. It remembers a couple of small choices in your own browser, such as whether you switched the snow off or closed a notice, and that stays on your device. The map on our Contact page only loads from Google when you press “Show the map”; Google’s own privacy policy then applies. When you open our Booking page, the booking calendar loads from resOS. Gift cards, event tickets and deposits are sold through our online shop on Wix. Our website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver the pages and keep the site secure.
  • News and offers. We only email you news and offers if you have ticked a box to say yes. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

We use trusted companies to run the restaurant. They only use your information to provide their service to us:

  • resOS, our table booking system
  • Wix, our online shop: event tickets, deposits and gift cards
  • our payment providers, such as Square
  • Google, for bookings made through Google and for our email
  • Meta, for WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook messages
  • Cloudflare, our website host
  • our accountant, for our financial records

We also share information when the law requires it (for example, with the police). We never sell your information. Some of these companies store information outside the UK. When they do, they use the safeguards UK law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep booking details, including any allergy notes, and messages only for as long as we need them to look after your bookings and answer your questions, and then delete them. Ticket, gift-card and payment records are kept for 6 years, because tax law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to stop sending news and offers. Email [email protected]; we’ll reply within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, 0303 123 1113.
