Our bread is baked here every day and slow-fermented for at least 12 hours. Our demi-glace simmers for eight to nine hours. Your tiramisù is prepared the moment you ask. Every dish also comes with a suggested wine.

Run by one family, from the kitchen to the garden.

Chef Marcio was born in Brazil and has worked in Italian kitchens since 1989, when he started out washing dishes. He and Magda started Marcio’s in 2020 and opened this restaurant on Castle Road in June 2023. Marcio cooks; Magda looks after the dining room, the gardens and you.

Italian, with a Brazilian soul

On the menu

Antipasti, pasta and risotto, steaks with a choice of three sauces, fish, salads and homemade desserts, with a wine list chosen to go with them, including two organic wines. At lunch there’s a set menu from starter to dessert with a glass of wine, and larger groups order from our set menus. Some dishes are named after the people who inspired them, like Rigatoni alla Nicoletta, named for the chef’s daughter. You can also phone an order through and collect it.

Gardens and good to know

Eat outside in the front garden on Castle Road, open all year, or in the back garden (closed in late autumn and winter). The entrance and dining room are step-free, with one small step at the back garden door. Dogs are welcome everywhere, and we have high chairs for little ones. Street parking nearby is free from 6pm on weekdays and all day at weekends.
